Types of Storage Available

Whether you're storing just a few boxes or an entire household, we have the exact sized unit you’re looking for. We have many different sizes available. Our most popular sizes include:

  • Small storage units – 5 ft. x 5 ft. (25 sq. ft.) can fit sporting goods, holiday decorations, seasonal storage, small furniture, multiple boxes
  • Medium storage units – 10 ft. x 10 ft. (100 sq. ft.) can hold contents of a one- to two-bedroom apartment including furniture
  • Large storage options – 10 ft. x 20 ft. (200 sq. ft.) can hold business inventory or the contents of a multi-room apartment or house

Climate-controlled storage units

If you could use a word to describe St. Louis' climate, it would be humid. Humidity makes the heat feel hotter and the cold feel colder. It's also not the best for stored items, unless of course there is a climate-controlled storage unit involved. These units regulate the temperature year-round to mitigate humidity's damaging effects on wood, electronics, paper and other sensitive items.

Indoor storage units

Indoor storage units offer the advantage of being in a covered, enclosed building. This adds a second layer of security as a separate code is often required for entry, and visitors are protected from the elements while indoors. These units are often climate-controlled, but sometimes not.

What We Like About St. Louis

The St. Louis skyline is immediately recognizable for the Gateway Arch, a 630-ft. monument that is the world's tallest arch, the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere and Missouri's tallest accessible building.

The Arch, which is part of the Gateway Arch Park along the banks of the Missouri River also symbolizes the city's role as Gateway to the West. After the Louisiana Purchase gave control of a huge chunk of land west of the Mississippi River to the U.S., explorers Lewis & Clark set out from St. Louis to blaze a trail west. They were soon followed by many pioneer families, frontiersmen and more, many embarking from St. Louis itself.

While many traveled westward, many also liked what they found in St. Louis itself. By 1900, St. Louis was the fourth-largest city in the United States. While the population has declined somewhat in recent years, the city proper is still home to more than 300,000 people, while the greater metropolitan area (which crosses into Illinois) is home to some 2.8 million people. For more information about the city, check out why St. Louis a great place to live and the best places to live here.

Food

As anyone who has lived in St. Louis (or knows someone who has), the people are extremely proud and protective of their cuisine.

Pizza has got to be top of the list. St. Louis-style pizza features square-cut, cracker-thin crust and Provel®, a pizza cheese created in The Hill neighborhood. Start with Imo's Pizza, but try them all to find your fav!

Italian cuisine is also popular on The Hill, which was brought to the area in the late 19th Century by immigrants from Northern Italy. Toasted Ravioli was also created in St. Louis, which is a must-try at Charlie Gitto's, and others.

The type of barbecue often found in St. Louis is also unique. Most common at the neighborhood cookouts will be pork spareribs, which are grilled, then served with a sweet and sticky BBQ sauce. In fact, St. Louis Style Ribs are even a thing with the USDA!

There is a lot more to explore in St. Louis, from breakfast of gooey butter cakes at Russell's on Macklin to frozen custard for dessert at Ted Drewes, and every meal in between.

Culture & Arts

As you can infer from a name like "St. Louis," the city has deep roots in its French past. This is no more obvious than the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France (a.k.a. The Old Cathedral). The New Cathedral (officially the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis) is one of the many highlights of the city's Catholic presence—and has one of the largest mosaics in the Western Hemisphere.

Music has always been a mainstay in St. Louis, and was home to early blues and jazz, stemming from venues in the old Gaslight Square district, as well as clubs like the long-gone Peacock Alley. One of the pioneers of rock, Chuck Berry, hailed from St. Louis, and the city has since spawned the likes of The Urge, Nelly, Uncle Tupelo and more.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is a top destination for classical music lovers, and the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is an annual summer outdoor event.

Of course, St. Louis is also home to the Saint Louis Art Museum, which has everything from works by European masters to American art, to ancient Egyptian pieces, contemporary art, and much more. Admission is free and it's visited by half a million people annually.

Sports

St. Louis is one of nine U.S. cities to have won titles in all four major leagues (MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL). Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals are one of the sport's most successful franchises, with 19 National League titles and 11 World Series titles, most recently in 2011. The Blues won hockey's Stanley Cup in 2019; previous champions from the NFL (the Cardinals) and NBA (the Hawks) have since relocated.

Education

St. Louis boasts one of the top 10 medical schools in the U.S. in Washington University School of Medicine, and its parent organization, Washington University in St. Louis, is a perennial top-20 undergrad school. Saint Louis University and University of Missouri–St. Louis are also recognized as top research schools.

Other area universities include Harris-Stowe State University, Webster University, and Stevens - The Institute of Business & Arts, as well as a number of other colleges, universities and theological institutions.

Downtown Revitalization

Downtown St. Louis has been the focus of a decade-long revitalization project. The area is now home to more than 1,600 businesses and 85,000 jobs, with a high concentration of legal, financial, government and creative businesses. Downtown has also seen an influx of residential living, including Leather Trades Artist Lofts and The Lofts at 2020 in the former Sporting News building.
